Youth and Socialization Definitions of youth based on age classification could be vary, depends on the sources and here are some classification according to biological approach;

Baby period is under one year Toddler is around one until two and two and half years old Child under five is the age around two and half until five years old Child period is the age around five until twelve years old 

Teenage period is the age around twelve until nine teen years old Adult period is the age around nine teen and above.
 
There is also definition according to cultural approach; Child period is under twelve years old Teenage period is between twelve until eighteen years old Adult period is above eighteen 

Functions of family for youth First school; family is the first education for youths. It’s happened because be the children would learn a lot of stuff form the parents as their first teachers. Character buildig; youths learn the characters from the family as their basis. They take family’s character as their character. The first step of socialization; they would learn how to socialize from the family they are in. Financial supporter; children would depend to their family in the case of financial because most of them are not able to sustain their own need. Shelter; family also play roles as the protector to their children. Advisors; family would also give ideas and critics towards the children so they can get into the right ways. Roles of youths in the society Backbone of the society; it’s obvious that youths are the engeen of a society to replace the old generation. They are also the vanguard in society’s achievement; it’s the nature of youths, they will come as vanguard instead of the old generation. Agents of change; youths have more time to act than the adults and they also do not have much stuff to think about. So they could allocate more times and thoughts to make changes into different conditions. The future of society; regeneration, it’s the best word to explain this point. A society will not last long without good regeneration, which is dependent on the future youths.
